my fav october outfits
song of the week: “The Window” by Ratboys
If you haven’t already figured it out by looking at me, I’m a girl who loves fashion. I work at a vintage store, love to play dress up in my closet, and think of Goodwill as my playground. Therefore, as a self-procclaimed fashionista, I thought I’d show you what I’ve been up to fashion-wise this month. Historically, October hasn’t always been my favorite month. December was my favorite time of the year because it’s the time for my birthday, Christmas, and my family. Since moving to Boston, October has quickly become my favorite month. There’s a chill in the air, pumpkins lining the stoops, my Trader Joe’s Honeycrisp Apple scented candle is constantly burning, Uggs are sitting cozy on my feet, and my debit card is racking up the charges for Pavement Coffeehouse’s cinnamon fig matchas. Different from my hometown of Los Angeles, I finally feel like I have a real fall. Here are some of my favorite outfits this month, before it gets too cold to care about what I wear!
Outfit #1
Went back to my lesbian-all girls-catholic-high school-roots for a second.
Where to buy:
G Star Workman Women’s Blouse (Thrifted)
Outfit #2
The jacket of my mafia wife alter ego. I love playing with accessories like my hair clips to elevate a simple outfit.
Where to buy:
Leopard Faux Fur lined Jacket (Thrifted)
Outfit #3
Fisherman or Dodger Fan? My mom recently bought me this sailor inspired raincoat and it’s been keeping me nice and dry from the Boston rain. I wore it on the day of one of the World Series Games. Soooo hyped that the Dodgers won! LA ON TOP!!!
Where to buy:
Old American Eagle Knitted Sweater
Big Bill Workwear Jeans (Secondhand)
Outfit #4
I love color matching in an outfit, or anything really, so when I saw that my scarf matched the color of my roommate’s promo posters, I ofc had to get a flick. I also looove mixing “feminine” and “masculine” pieces, like ballet flats and baggy jeans!!
Where to buy:
Dark Denim Jacket (Thrifted)
Handmade Knit Scarf
Honorable Mention:
My favorite clothing purchase of the month was this Forrest Green Zip-up knit sweater from Uniqlo. It’s seriously so soft, warm, and cozy, and I wore it so many times this month that it’s become a new fall staple. Take a look at Uniqlo’s winter collection if can!
xoxo,
gaby!
