Billie Marten

This week I’ve been listening to a lot of music by an artist I love named Billie Marten. Billie Marten has a few albums out and she recently just released her fifth album titled Dog Eared. It’s an incredible album and if you’re into Boygenius, Searows, Leith Ross, Big Thief, Slow Pulp and a lot of softer alternative artists, I think you’ll love her. She is an incredible lyricist with an amazing tone to her voice. My personal favorites off of Dog Eared are “Feelings”, “The Glass”, “Clover”, and “Crown”, though the one I’ve probably listened to the most is “Feelings”, which has been on repeat all week. It’s the opening track of the album, and what I think is an excellent intro into what the vibes of the rest of her music, but specifically the rest of this album is like. There’s such authenticity and sweetness in all of her music, so much so that I started playing some of her songs at my work this morning for everyone to hear!

Since she’s still a smaller artists compared to many others, she touring smaller venues across the country and the world. I’m looking into buying tickets to see her in Boston this winter with a friend so hopefully I get to go because I would love to see her perform live!
